Endorse This: Trump Pays Christie’s Debt, Insists ‘You’re Not Eating Oreos Anymore’

Would a story about Donald Trump telling Chris Christie to lay off the Oreos be interesting in its own right?

Fine, maybe it would be.

But this is about more than Trump’s ridiculous threats of humongous import duties on companies like Nabisco.

No, this is about campaign debt.

When Chris Christie bailed on his failing presidential campaign to return to his failed governorship in February, he brought loads of campaign debt with him: roughly $250,000.

Tickets to Trump events are usually free. The tickets last night were $200.

And at the end of the night, Trump proclaimed that he had paid off Christie’s entire campaign debt. It’s possible he did. In any case, he probably came close.

So, at least until this whole “endorsing a fascist” thing gets its proper attention, Chris Christie will just have to listen to Donald Trump’s dietary guidelines.
